Now that you have a basic understanding of the vine interface lets look at finding, and ordering your first junk product.
Initially under the RFY "recommended for you" and AFA "Available for all" tabs you may see this very ominous message (you will see this a lot):
We do not have any offers for you at this time. Some of the possible reasons for you to see this message are:
- No products are currently matched to you based on our targeting system
- You may not meet our active contribution criteria or performance standards
- One of your reviews may have been flagged as inappropriate
- We may have identified suspicious activity and are investigating your account
You will also not see any products listed.
My first bit of advice is always go with the least upsetting line in the list. If you are new or even have been in the program for a week or so the most likely reason you see the message is exactly what the first line says: "No products are currently matched to you based on our targeting system". RFY can take several days to populate, and so can AFA. So if RFY and AFA are empty and displaying that message. move on to AI "Additional items"
On the left are a list of categories that for the most part are a mere suggestion of what is inside them. Do not be surprised if what you find in them has no reason to be in there, sellers choose the category they put stuff in and they are often quite dumb.
To the right you will see tiles with a misleading picture of a product, a short description, and a see details button.
Then there is the barely usable search field.
Ordering products is different than normal amazon, you do not add items to your cart, you must order through the vine order process. you do that by clicking the "See details" button.
and clicking on "Request product" button. that will take you to the amazon ordering page. It used to just take you to a screen where you could select the address to ship to, and then click order product. Now it takes you to the normal amazon product ordering page where you can select shipping. The page confuses people because (if you don't bother reading) it shows charges for shipping. If you read it, it shows a total of zero. Also it may prompt you to join prime. You DO NOT have to have prime to be in vine.Ordering products sometimes requires a great deal of speed, and this process slows down ordering from what it used to be, instead of 3 clicks, it is now 5 or 6. This is a problem when drops are happening and stuff is being snapped up in an instant.
